OUR SHARING PRINCIPLES
Hills of Venus is a free gallery for artwork and photography that people can enjoy and reuse.
For this first version, contributors must be adults and images must suit a general audience. An age declaration is not independent age verification.
Membership, favorites, and conversations are free. Participants must be at least 18 and agree to these rules. A member account does not verify age or unlock adult artwork. Public profiles and comments require human approval. Reviewers can request an AI safety assessment of comment text; AI does not automatically publish, reject, or suspend members and can miss concerns. Reports and appeals remain available through Help & requests; changed profiles return to review. Keep comments respectful, relevant to the work, and suitable for a general audience. Do not post personal contact details, spam, threats, sexual content, or material you do not have permission to share.
Comments and biographies are conversation, not CC0 artwork submissions. Posting them does not dedicate them to the public domain. You permit their display on the site and can remove your comments or hide your profile. Report concerns from a comment or profile; block members through the same controls. Blocking affects signed-in visibility and does not make public content private. Appeals go through Help & requests. Private messaging and adult-art discussions are not enabled in this version.
Artistic nudes and Bodyscapes are separately curated collections of nonsexual museum art depicting adults. Access remains locked without a trusted verified adult-age result. Approved accounts must have a trusted verified adult-age result before seeing images, thumbnails, downloads or source details. Sign-in, an age declaration and owner status alone do not grant access. Adult-art contributor uploads are not enabled.
Original work must be dedicated under CC0 1.0. The dedication allows copying, editing, redistribution, and commercial use without required attribution or payment, to the extent legally permitted, with a fallback license where applicable. It is intended to be permanent; deleting a post does not revoke rights already granted.
For existing public-domain works, provide an authoritative source and evidence for review. Owning a physical artwork, print, or image file does not necessarily mean you own its copyright.
When you choose “My work — dedicate under CC0,” you confirm that you created the work or control the rights needed to share it, dedicate every included element you control to CC0 1.0, authorize worldwide distribution through Hills of Venus, and remain responsible for your ownership statement and applicable privacy, likeness, and third-party rights.
Upload only original work for which you control the needed rights, or an existing public-domain work with reliable evidence. You must be able to dedicate all parts of an original submission under CC0: the art itself, the cover image, any video footage, music, samples, written text, code, assets, and contributor materials.
Possessing a file, purchasing a print, finding material online, crediting an artist, or using a work marked “free” does not give you the copyright rights needed to submit it. If another person created any part, obtain their permission in writing or choose a different work. For recognizable people, obtain any applicable permission to use their likeness.
We display artist names and provenance, even where attribution is not legally required. CC0 does not remove other people’s privacy, likeness, trademark, or other applicable rights. We cannot promise that every use is unrestricted in every jurisdiction.
Submissions are private until a reviewer approves them. We retain the rights choice, agreement version, consent time, and review decision. We may hold or reject work that does not meet these rules.
Use Report content or request removal for copyright, nonconsensual intimate imagery, or other safety concerns without signing in. Signed-in visitors can also use an artwork’s reporting control. The review desk can hold a submitted image while it is investigated.
Hills of Venus LLC is the legal operator; Sounding Line Media LLC is its holding company. See our Website terms and Privacy notice. Designated-agent registration and formal DMCA procedures remain subject to verification; we do not claim safe-harbor qualification.
The curated artworks are selected from museum open-access collections. Each artwork links to its source record, and the expanded selection includes links to the museum’s reuse policy. We preserve artist credit and source information alongside each image.
Submit movies, video, music, sound bites and websites with a cover image, a public HTTPS link to the exact work, and credits and rights evidence. Sculpture submissions need a photograph and rights details for both the sculpture and photograph. Eligible original media files may be attached for review and, if approved, made available as direct public downloads. Unsupported or larger files should remain at their documented source.
The submitted work and cover must qualify for CC0 or documented public-domain sharing. Free access and royalty-free licenses alone do not qualify. Identify the rights for all components: film footage and soundtrack; music composition, recording and samples; website code, text and assets. Linking to a website does not dedicate its contents to CC0. CC0 applies only to rights you hold; other rights and country-specific restrictions may remain. Read Creative Commons guidance.
A reviewer must inspect the full work and evidence before publication. AI image checks do not assess linked movies, recordings or websites. External destinations can change after review; use Report a concern if a link changes or no longer meets our rules.
Books need a link to the exact edition, author credits, and rights evidence for the text, translation, illustrations and cover. A public-domain original does not automatically make a newer translation or illustrated edition public domain.
Software needs an official project or repository link, version and platform information, and rights evidence covering code, assets and bundled dependencies. Freeware and open-source licenses do not automatically qualify for this CC0/public-domain collection. Do not label packages with incompatible third-party license obligations as CC0.
Eligible book files may be attached for review and public distribution after approval. We do not execute submitted software or certify downloads as safe; software remains linked to an official source unless and until a separate secure-distribution system is approved. AI cover-image checks do not read the book, audit source code or scan downloads for malware. Reviewers must inspect the complete submission and rights evidence. CC0 does not waive patent or trademark rights; see the CC0 deed.
